If you are celebrating Christmas 2014 in Crete then please make sure you are in Chania on Saturday, December 27 as the 4th Santa Run, the most festive charitable Christmas event of Chania town (Crete) will be held on that day.
This Santa Run event is a ‘parody’ of the famous Santa Run held in various cities of the world every December; it is a walking race (3.5 km) in the town of Chania during which participants wear Santa Claus costumes. These participants will enjoy treats offered by the owners of the shops on their way to the finish line. In this Santa Run, there is no official timing, nor are any medals. All participants are winners by helping – through their donation – children in need. The 4th Santa Run at Chania is organised by the Santa Run association in collaboration with the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Chania and other institutions in order to support those local associations that help children with health issues. This year, Santa Claus is coming to Chania!
